PLN IP Services Standby Roll Call Strengthens Preparedness, Ensures Reliable Electricity During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026

Jakarta, March 10, 2026 – PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) held a Standby Roll Call to Secure Electricity Supply for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 as a manifestation of the company's commitment to ensuring reliable electricity supply throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. This standby roll call is a strategic step in anticipating increased electricity demand and high public mobility during the holidays.

The standby roll call was attended by the entire Board of Directors of PLN IP Services, as well as by work units in various operational areas, both in person and online. This activity also served as a momentum to ensure the readiness of personnel, equipment, and power plant operational systems for optimal operation during the standby period.

PLN IP Services currently manages 45 fully managed power plants, providing reliable energy for the electricity system in various operational areas, particularly in islands and remote areas. These plants are crucial for maintaining continuous electricity supply in isolated systems, which require operational flexibility and rapid response to dynamic system conditions.

The total installed capacity of power plants managed by PLN IP Services reaches 1,141.26 MW. The power plant portfolio is dominated by Gas Engine Power Plants (PLTMG) and Diesel Power Plants (PLTD), which offer high operational flexibility, enabling them to dynamically adjust to system load requirements.

In addition, PLN IP Services also manages various other types of power plants, such as coal-fired power plants (PLTU), micro-hydro power plants (PLTMH), and hybrid solar power plants (PLTS), which contribute to electricity system reliability and contribute to the development of new and renewable energy in various operational areas.

Regionally, PLN IP Services' power plant management is divided into three main regions.

In Western Indonesia, PLN IP Services operates significant generating capacity, supported by a combination of coal-fired power plants (PLTU), gas-fired power plants (PLTMG), and micro-hydropower plants (PLTMMH) as new and renewable energy generators. This combination serves as the backbone of the regional system and supports a reliable and sustainable electricity supply.

Meanwhile, Central Indonesia boasts the largest number of generating units, comprising gas-fired power plants (PLTMG), existing diesel-fired power plants (PLTMD), and leased diesel-fired power plants (PLTMD), which play a crucial role in maintaining reliable electricity supply in the island and non-interconnected systems. In this region, PLN IP Services also manages solar power plants (PLTS) combined with existing power plants to improve operational efficiency, reduce emissions, and support the energy transition in the archipelagic region.

Eastern Indonesia, meanwhile, is a strategic region with significant generating capacity, particularly in Maluku and Papua. This region is supported by mobile power plants (MPP), peaker power plants, and various operational support services to ensure reliable electricity supply in eastern Indonesia.

PLN IP Services President Director, Hari Cahyono, emphasized that this standby roll call is a crucial opportunity to ensure all work units are ready to maintain power plant reliability during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

"Through this standby roll call, we ensure that all power plant units are ready, in terms of personnel, equipment, and operational systems. The Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr standby period is a crucial period, so all units must increase vigilance, strengthen coordination, and ensure all protection functions, anti-blackout systems, and emergency response team readiness are running optimally," said Hari.

He added that this readiness must also be supported by routine checks of power plant equipment, strengthened operational patrols, and intensive coordination with various relevant parties, including PLN Indonesia Power as the asset manager. The availability of primary energy, the readiness of the power plant's operating system, and a rapid response to potential disruptions are key priorities during the standby period.

"We encourage all units to continue increasing their vigilance, both technically and operationally, and in terms of occupational safety. The implementation of OHS standards, including the 9 Life Saving Rules, must be the guiding principle in every work activity. With maintained readiness and solid coordination, we are optimistic that PLN IP Services can continue to maintain the reliability of its generators and ensure a secure electricity supply throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," Hari concluded.

As part of its commitment to maintaining the reliability of the national electricity system, PLN IP Services continues to ensure that all units

The power plant is in optimal condition during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr standby periods. Through personnel readiness, reliable equipment, and solid coordination with all stakeholders, PLN IP Services is committed to providing a reliable electricity supply so that the public can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely and comfortably.
