Keeping the Lights on for Eid al-Adha 1447 H

PLN IP Services Ensures Power Plants Remain Reliable

Sintang, May 22, 2026 — To support the reliability of the electricity supply and ensure that the public can safely and comfortably carry out the series of religious observances and activities of Eid al-Adha 1447 H, PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) continues to strengthen the operational readiness of its power plants through maintenance activities and performance improvements. As a manifestation of this commitment, PLN IP Services President Director Hari Cahyono conducted a site visit on Wednesday (May 21) and directly observed the overhaul process at PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sintang Unit 2 in West Kalimantan. He accompanied PLN Indonesia Power Vice President of OMP III, Nugraha Septa Utama K, and Sintang Unit Manager, Bayu Putra Surya Perdana, to ensure the plant's continued safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This was achieved through overhaul work carried out by the PLN IP Services Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) team, as well as the readiness of PLN IP Services employees to maintain the plant's operational reliability.

This visit is part of PLN IP Services' commitment to ensuring the readiness and reliability of the power plant during the Eid al-Adha holiday, when the need for a reliable electricity supply is a crucial factor in supporting community activities, public services, and the smooth implementation of religious observances in various regions.

In addition to conducting an overhaul inspection, the President Director of PLN IP Services also greeted PLN IP Services employees who are on standby to maintain the operational reliability of Units 1 and 3, which are currently operating to ensure the continuity of electricity supply to the West Kalimantan electricity system.

The overhaul of Unit 2 of the Sintang Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a strategic step to ensure the plant continues to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. During the overhaul, the PLN IP Services MRO team carried out a number of key work scopes, including turbine inspections, boiler inspections, generator inspections, transformer inspections, and transformer re-gasketing, as part of efforts to maintain the performance and reliability of the generating units.

The President Director of PLN IP Services, Hari Cahyono, stated that the Eid al-Adha momentum serves as a reminder of the importance of sacrifice, responsibility, and excellent service to the nation, including maintaining a reliable electricity supply for the community.

"The Eid al-Adha momentum teaches the values ​​of sincerity, devotion, and responsibility in providing the best. This spirit is also embodied by the PLN IP Services staff, who remain vigilant and work to ensure the reliability of the power plant so that the community can carry out their religious obligations and activities comfortably," said Hari Cahyono.

He also added that PLN IP Services will continue to support PLN Indonesia Power through Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services and reliable MRO capabilities to maintain optimal power plant performance, particularly in supporting reliable electricity supply during the Eid al-Adha 1447 H.
