Strengthening Electricity System Reliability, PLN IP Services Delivers 20 MW in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi

 

Bulukumba, October 4, 2026 — PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) continues to strengthen its contribution to supporting electricity system reliability in the Sulawesi region by achieving the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Phase 1 with a capacity of 20 MW out of a total generating capacity of 50 MW in Bulukumba, projected to total 250 MW to support the electricity system needs in South Sulawesi.

 

Achieving COD Phase 1 is an important part of supporting the readiness of Sulawesi's electricity system, particularly through the additional 20 MW capacity that can strengthen electricity supply and support continuity of electricity services for the community and industrial sector.

 

In the process leading up to COD, PLN IP Services ensures the plant's operational readiness, equipment reliability, personnel readiness, and the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) aspects. These various stages were carried out to ensure the unit could operate optimally and support the electricity system's needs.

 

The President Director of PLN IP Services, Hari Cahyono, emphasized that achieving COD Phase 1 in Bulukumba is part of PLN IP Services' commitment to continue making a real contribution to maintaining the reliability of the national electricity system, particularly in the Sulawesi region.

 

"Achieving COD Phase 1 with a capacity of 20 MW in Bulukumba is part of PLN IP Services' contribution to supporting the reliability of the Sulawesi electricity system. We ensure the plant's operational, equipment, and personnel readiness to operate optimally and provide support for system needs," said Hari Cahyono.

 

This achievement is also due to the synergy and collaboration of various parties in ensuring that the entire process leading to commercial operation runs according to established targets and standards. This success also strengthens PLN IP Services' role in providing professional and reliable power plant operation and maintenance services.

PLN IP Services Successfully Relocates and Operates the 20 MW Tanjung Selor Gas-Powered Power Plant, Strengthening North Kalimantan's Electricity Reliability

Tanjung Selor, December 17, 2025 – PLN Indonesia Power together with PLN Indonesia Power Services present the Tanjung Selor Gas-Fired Power Plant (PLTG) with a capacity of 1 x 20 MegaWatt (MW) as a strategic step to strengthen the reliability of the electricity system in the North Kalimantan region. The presence of the Tanjung Selor PLTG is a real solution to meet the increasing need for electricity supply, while strengthening the electricity system in the capital of North Kalimantan Province which is located at the end of the system. This plant is expected to be able to support community activities, government, and encourage sustainable regional economic growth.

PLN IP Services Operates 3 MW Power Plant in Wamena, Boosting Activity and Encouraging Regional Development

Jakarta, July 27, 2026 — The success of providing an additional 3 MW of generating capacity in Wamena is a manifestation of the synergy between PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) and PT PLN (Persero) Regional Main Unit (UIW) Papua and West Papua. Through this collaboration, PLN IP Services completed the entire process from construction, installation, commissioning, to the Reliability Running Test for 72 hours before the plant officially entered its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on Sunday (19/7). The operation of this additional capacity adds 3 MW of power supply to support 24-hour electricity services for the community and encourage economic growth and development in Wamena.
