Delivering Reliable Energy to Customers, PLN IP Services Operates an Additional 5 MW in Selayar
Selayar, September 3, 2026 — Customers' need for a reliable electricity supply in the Selayar Islands has received additional support with the arrival of a 5 MW generating capacity, which will begin commercial operation (Commercial Operation Date/COD) on September 2, 2026. The additional capacity comes from six rental generator units provided by PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) in collaboration with PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP)'s Tello Generation Business Unit (UBP) and Selayar Implementation Unit (UP), bringing the total generating capacity in the Selayar electricity system to 16 MW.
This additional capacity is part of an effort to meet the growing electricity needs of the Selayar Islands community. With greater power support, the local electricity system has more adequate capacity to serve a variety of customer needs, from households and public facilities to economic and productive community activities.
For PLN IP Services, the provision of 5 MW of capacity demonstrates the company's commitment to providing customer-centric services.
