In an effort to support the competency development of electrical engineering educators, the MRO Services Team from PT PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) attended SMKN 1 Cirebon to provide specialized training for productive Electrical Engineering teachers.

This training focused on the introduction and utilization of two important devices newly acquired by the school: an insulation tester and an Ingress Protection (IP) test. Both devices are essential tools for testing the quality and safety of electrical installations.

The material was delivered directly by experts from PLN IP Services' Project Services Division, namely Nicho Julians Hidayat, an Electrical Engineer, and Arief Budiman, a Senior Electrical Technician. Participants received both theoretical training and hands-on practice to maximize the use of the devices in teaching and learning activities.

In the practical session, teachers were introduced to the function and testing procedures using an insulation tester, which measures the insulation resistance of cables and electrical installations, thus detecting potential current leaks that could disrupt equipment performance or endanger safety. Meanwhile, the IP test focused on the electrical equipment's ability to withstand exposure to dust and water, ensuring optimal performance in various environmental conditions.

PLN IP Services President Director, Hari Cahyono, stated that this activity represents the company's concrete contribution to supporting the improvement of vocational education in the electricity sector.

"We believe that the advancement of the electricity sector depends not only on technology but also on the readiness of its human resources. Through this training, we want to share practical experiences and knowledge so that teachers can pass on these competencies to students. This way, vocational schools like SMKN 1 Cirebon can become learning centers that adapt to developments in modern electricity technology," said Hari Cahyono.

Furthermore, Hari emphasized that this type of training program is part of PLN IP Services' commitment to supporting an educational ecosystem that is oriented toward competency and occupational safety, in line with the company's mission to provide added value to society through knowledge transfer and capacity building for engineering teachers.
