PT PLN (Persero) continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a reliable, equitable, and sustainable electricity supply to remote areas of the country. As part of its efforts to strengthen the electricity system in eastern Indonesia, PLN leadership conducted a working visit to the Barge Mounted Power Plant (BMPP) Nusantara 1, located in Waai Village, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.
BMPP Nusantara 1 is a floating power plant that plays a strategic role in supporting the reliability of the electricity system in the Maluku region. The plant is fully managed by PLN Indonesia Power Services, the strategic company responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant.
The working visit was led by PLN Board of Commissioners Ali Masykur Musa, Mutanto Juwono, and Yazid Fanani, accompanied by PLN's Director of Generation Management, Rizal Calvary Marimbo, and relevant management. The delegation was welcomed by the General Manager of PLN's Maluku and North Maluku Regional Main Unit (UIW MMU), the Director of Gas Plant Operations at PLN Indonesia Power, the President Director of PLN Indonesia Power Services, and the operational team at BMPP Nusantara 1.
As a floating power plant, BMPP Nusantara 1 offers high flexibility and is a strategic solution for reaching areas lacking adequate electricity infrastructure. PLN IP Services plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal operation of all technical aspects, from daily operations and routine maintenance to rapid and responsive disruption management.
This visit demonstrates the synergy within the PLN Group to achieve an equitable and inclusive energy transition throughout Indonesia.
